MY INSPIRATION AND APPROACH

I find my greatest inspiration in observing people. My heart skips for joy when I have the freedom to discover the golden thread between people, their community, and the traditions that they hold dear. Sincerely documenting meaningful moments and milestones is the best job in the world!
My process entails getting to know the people and spaces I document on a deeper level and understanding the elements and aspects which make them unique. Photographs are more powerful when it feels like an insider was behind the lens. Following a documentary approach to photography I believe everything is worth capturing, even when it's a tricky situation or a not-so-pretty moment. So no, I won't pitch up on the day to do a job and leave, I really require transparency and trust from my clients in order to tell their story in the best possible way. Let's freeze time and candidly capture your life by focussing on in-between moments to tell the story of the people and places that shaped who you are today.
I see every project as a collaboration between us in order to tell a story. Read more about the experience working with Marli Koen here
