THEIR LOVE STORY
Maret and Jean had always dreamt of tying the knot somewhere special to them. The place they chose was Maret's family farm, called Rhenosterfontein, just outside Bredasdorp. However, a series of heavy rainstorms hit the Cape region in the week leading up to their wedding day. Unfortunately, this caused a lot of the roads leading to their farm to flood.
But Maret and Jean were not going to let a little bit of rain ruin their special day. They quickly came up with a solution. They arranged with their guests to take an alternative route to the farm and provided glamping tents so that everyone could enjoy the festivities all weekend long without having to drive back to town.
As a photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing the heartwarming moments during their wedding. I believe in creating photographs that truly capture the essence of a couple's love story. My style is heartfelt and sincere, perfect for modern romantics with an adventurous spirit.
Throughout the day, I was inspired by the love between Maret and Jean, as well as the beautiful light and stunning South African landscapes surrounding us. The photos I took reflect their unique bond and showcase the natural beauty of the farm.
Being a part of their wedding day, despite the unexpected challenges, reminded me of why I love what I do. It's about capturing those precious moments and creating timeless memories for couples like Maret and Jean.
If you're a modern romantic with an adventurous edge, looking for photography that speaks to your soul, I would be honored to be a part of your special day. Let's capture your love story in a way that will truly touch your heart.

LOCATION DETAILS
An outdoor farm-style ceremony under a 100-year old Milkwood tree and an indoor shed reception
What did you love most about your wedding venue / location? It was very special to get married on the family farm where I grew up. The ceremony was under a century-old Melkhout tree on the farm, and my father and I rode to the ceremony with our carriage and Friesian horses - it really felt like a fairy tale!
What memory from your wedding do you remember the most vividly? I remember so well how excited I was, when I was already in my wedding dress at the guest house on the way to our farm, standing at the window and could see all the guests arriving. It was the most beautiful day - everything was green, the Canola fields golden yellow, and I just wanted to party with my husband and our guests! I will also never forget how special it was to walk down the aisle with my father. It was as if a calm came over me, time stood still, and I could "greet" all our guests and Jean with the biggest smile.
What advice would you give future couples planning on getting married? Try not to get too carried away and look at suppliers' social media pages, because the most expensive and popular supplier is not necessarily the best. Try to find yourself a photographer, videographer, makeup artist, wedding planner, etc. who compliments your personalities. It just makes the wedding planning so much easier and more fun!
Did something unexpected / funny / stressful happen on your day? Where you prepared for this? There is a low-water bridge that flooded on the road that the guests had to drive to the farm, and Jean and I had to hurry to let everyone know that they had to take an alternative route. Fortunately, we had enough calm parties around us - and this "problem" in the end caused the guests to take a longer, but much nicer road to the farm.
Which element of your wedding do you wish you could have / afterwards think you could have left out? Every little detail added up to an unforgettable day in the end, so we wouldn't really want to leave anything out. We would move the ceremony time earlier if we had to do it over. It was the most beautiful afternoon and we would have liked to spend longer with everyone outside.
