Thomas took Madeleine on a surprise winter road trip shortly after they started dating. Matjiesfontein was the first stop on their adventure itinerary. A weekend filled with lots of red wine around a fireplace in a haunted hotel in the Karoo.

A few years later, they returned to Lord Milner where Tom popped the question to which Madeleine said yes. It was fitting that they completed their journey to become husband and wife at this majestic location. On 30 November 2019, the stars aligned for these two to say "YES" to a lifetime of adventures.
