BACKGROUND

Stephan meticulously planned a surprise proposal for his love Timony. The week leading up to the event, he arranged for little moments of making her feel special. It started with having her nails done, treating her to a new hair cut and a new outfit followed by a weekend in Cape Town. On the Saturday morning, Stephan surprised Timony with a private breakfast set-up at Boschendal Estate, overlooking the gorgeous Franschhoek mountains. Before breakfast was served, he dropped on his knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

The magic of this day was immortalized by a sunset engagement session next to the ocean surrounded by the Twelve Apostles Mountains. Every photo reflects the genuine tenderness and connection shared by this couple, as they embarked on this incredible journey together.

To create this captivating series of images, I focussed on preserving the authenticity of each moment. The soft, golden hues of natural light gracefully bathed the couple, enhancing their features and creating an ethereal atmosphere. Rather than orchestrating posed pictures I aimed to unobtrusively observe and capture the genuine interactions and emotions between Stephan and Timony. This approach allowed for organic and unscripted photographs.

Drawing inspiration from the captivating South African landscapes, we incorporated elements of the natural surroundings into the composition of each photograph. The vast expanse of the rolling waves, the ruggedness of the cliffside, and the playful spirit of Stephan and Timony was a joy to document. Each image serves as a window into the depths of Stephan and Timony's love, revealing genuine smiles, tender glances, and the joy that radiated from their hearts.

This seaside photoshoot which commemorates Stephan asking Timony's hand in marriage serves as a reminder of the power of love and the importance of documenting life's most precious moments.
